It’s National Estuaries Week and birds love estuaries! Birds of all types make the estuary their home—some are full time residents, others are only visitors. Either way, they all find the food, water and shelter they need to survive and thrive. Come act like a bird with us and discover how a bird’s beak is adapted to help it grab and eat its favorite meal. Beaks of all shapes and sizes can be found in and around the Oso Bay Wetland trails and nature areas—you just need to look for them. Meet Nigel the Pelican, an Mission-Aransas NERR animal ambassador, from 9-10:30am as he shows off his amazing estuary adaptations.
