Report: Donnie McClurkin Accused Of Leading ‘Gay Cure Cult’

After reports of a “gay cure” therapist’s suspension for sexually engaging with patients, a Twitter user has accused gospel singer and minister Donnie McClurkin Jr. of having ties to Exodus International, a homosexual conversion organization with a disturbing history of sexual abuse allegations.

The individual claimed his mother enrolled him in Exodus years ago, and McClurkin had “formed a religious gay cure cult” via the organization.

“The dudes that ran it took advantage of us,” he wrote in the first series of now-viral tweets. “I lost my virginity in gay cure therapy.”

He went on explaining that the organizers kicked him out after he told his parents about the abuse and that he “resisted God’s help.” Fortunately, he said, he’d never experienced some of the organization’s alleged inhumane treatments for “victims” of homosexuality, such as electric shock therapy. However, the trauma suffered from sexual and mental abuse still lingers, he said.

McClurkin nor his team have made official statements regarding the accusations yet.

In the meantime, read what the alleged former patient had to say about the organization below.

Cleaning this roof is an absolute nightmare—but at least it looks cool

The Esplanade Theatre in Singapore features a one-of-a-kind roof design, with thousands of triangulated glass elements and sunshades. Unfortunately, the designers didn’t really think through the cleaning process… which takes about two months and has to be done manually. Read more…

New aggregator CherryPicks will highlight female reviewers and women in film

It’s no longer news, and maybe it never was, but the entertainment industry is dominated by men. Gender equality is top of mind in Hollywood now, especially with the Time’s Up initiative and the rising popularity of inclusion riders.

The latest effort to champion women in media comes from filmmaker Miranda Bailey (no relation, Grey’s Anatomy fans) who started CherryPicks, which will aggregate movie reviews the way Rotten Tomatoes does, but without the heavy male bias.

“I think it’s a boys’ club,” Bailey told Mashable on the phone this week, referring to film criticism. “I think journalism itself has been a boys’ club for a long time and the parameters to be a hoity-toity film reviewer or whatever, in certain newspapers – it was hard to get that job unless you were a Caucasian man.” Read more…

Apple is holding a mysterious ‘education’ event in Chicago

Students around the country are enjoying spring break this month — but not Apple.

The tech giant is holding a mysterious event in Chicago that has something to do with education.

The event, which Apple has branded as a “field trip,” will take place at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago on March 27.

This Man Will Stop At Nothing To Win Young M.A’s Heart

Brooklyn rap star Young M.A isn’t shy about letting people know that she’s got a thing for the ladies as a proud member of the LGBTQ community since breaking out with her smash hit, “Ooouuu.”

Apparently, there’s a man who isn’t shy about letting the whole world know that he’s got a thing for her, either, as he professed in an Instagram post that has Snoop Dogg rolling in laughter.

The Instagram user @daylyt2k posted a photo of himself with M.A as the two posed for a picture together in “East” and “West” coast jerseys. The photo is innocent enough, but we can’t say the same for the caption.

“From the day we [laid] eyes on each other, I know it was something special…,” he wrote. “I’ma do everything I can to get her to be my kingqueen…just imagine what our kids would like…”

But he didn’t stop there. He also slid in Young M.A’s DMs with a pair of peeping eyes followed by another picture of a loving family of five, with his face and that of M.A’s photoshopped on the mother and father in the flick. The shots somehow landed on Uncle Snoop’s timeline, who commented on the pictures with only the amount of hilarity we’d expect them to have.

“Use a d**n fool [cuz],” he wrote with a series of laughter faces.

Indeed, Uncle Snoop. Indeed.

See how far off the court he went to shoot his shot with the Brooklyn emcee below.
